Luxuria Lifestyle South Africa and DinnerTimeStories Presented an evening of excellence

Luxuria Lifestyle South Africa and DinnerTimeStories SA gave Johannesburg a spectacular “Location Glam Event” where we hosted the amazing creator and producer of DinnerTimeStories, Nadine Beshir. Although this event was to take our guests on a culinary journey around the world, it was also to announce the next spectacular locations that DinnerTimeStories will be moving to. 2020 will see the magic of DinnerTimeStories at the stunning L’Ermitage Franschhoek Chateau & Villas and The Royal Livingston Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel.

Dinnertime stories have already left an indelible mark on South Africa’s foodie scene, and this event proved why. A gathering with some of the crème-de-la-crème of SA’s Celebrity and Socialite society creates a buzz of anticipation. We embarked on a tasting journey following Marco Polo’s Silk Route with the renowned and charming 58mm Le Petit Chef, expertly guided through each country and course by Chef Lloyd and owner Paul Rouessart.

In true Luxuria South Africa fashion, on arrival, every person was welcomed at the Faircity Quartermain Hotel by the friendliest faces and of course a glass of the finest champagne to start the evening. Once seated at the table, the anticipation was palpable as the lights dimmed, our books opened and we started this table-top projected journey. In a word, it was…“magic.” Our minds were aware that this is technology, but our eyes and hearts were fantastically transported into an alternate virtual reality, for just a couple of hours. As the taste sensation that was our amuse-bouche was cleared, we found ourselves in the palm of the little chef’s hand as we traversed choppy waters, flew across desserts and scaled the Himalayas to find ourselves in different destinations.

In the words of Kim Jansen “This took the idea of a sensory theatre to new heights. Each destination engaged every one of the senses. Waiters don a distinctive article of clothing that links them to the country, while every course is a delectable plating of foods unique to that country (I cannot pin down a single favourite but…the mash potatoes, citrus poultry, curry, sorbet, crème Brulee is a sensation – see no way to choose a single dish. Excellent dancers thrill through-out the evening and our mouth-watering dinner had the perfect wines paired with each course. The most difficult part of the evening was snapping back to reality once it was all over.”

In the words of Cartier Zagoski Lebatie “The visuals and attention to detail that went into this production were out of this world. I was taken on several journeys through international waters, Arabia, India, China, the Himalayas and lastly ending off in France where I enjoyed carefully thought out dishes to bring each place to life. My FAVOURITE part of the many meals that were served, was my absolute weakness – the créme brûlée and the spectacular “pink” tea. Having tried and failed to book for these last shows, I cannot wait to share this experience again with family and friends at all-new locations.”

In the words of Ilze Saunders “The story of this refined food gives you great excitement.  Ultimately when you take your first bite of each cuisine, you have instantly swept away and intrigued. After all, you are in the hands of the award-winning Executive Chef Tristan Latouf.  When I tell you this is something out of this world, I mean it, guaranteed! It’s innovative, fun, delicious, and the best part of it all is, it takes you on a journey that tickles all your senses — two words – Highly Recommended.”
