AliKats Chalets, where comfort is key

AliKats Mountain Holidays features wonderful chalets in the French Alps that are geared to suit all levels of skiers and snowboarders, they are equipped to ensure your mountain pursuits will be the best they can be, your comfort is their main objective.

The AliKats chalets cater to families and small groups alike, with spacious, comfortable, warm bedrooms and individually designed bathrooms. The beds are so comfortable and perfect for apres ski recuperation, particularly in that short time between afternoon tea and dinner.

The communal areas where breakfast and dinner took place featured readily available snacks, tea and coffee 24/7 and for a small cost, there is also a trolley full of spirits, with wine and beer being complimentary.

To be set up for an energetic day on the slopes breakfast is a ‘must’ and the hosts and chef ensured we were fully satisfied and prepared every morning. We were treated to fresh pastries and orange juice and a different hot dish each day; eggs Benedict, omelette, bacon sandwich, were just a few that we enjoyed.

Following breakfast and with a pre-arranged time for going to the slopes the AliKats driver put our skis, poles and helmets in the minivan and took us to our chosen ski area, where we would be collected from later in the day, it was a highly efficient service, extremely impressive. The AliKats chalets are ideally situated for some amazing resorts; Morzine, Super Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz,  providing endless runs and a huge variety of fabulous mountain restaurants for those essential hot chocolates or vin chauds and of course those important amazing photo ops.

We enjoyed some apres-ski time in all of the resorts, there was a selection of amazing fashion boutiques, bars, hotels, and restaurants.  The Tibetan Café in central Morzine was the  ‘in place’, to visit. The music was thumping and the atmosphere buzzing and the prosecco perfect, we were very well looked after.

After an hour or so enjoying some time to unwind in the bars following our exhausting days, we were collected by the AliKats driver to return to the chalet in time for dinner with the other guests.

Our dinner would begin with some nibbles, followed by a starter, main course and dessert. The food was great and although coffee was offered after dinner we were just so tired we ventured up to our room to take full advantage of the comfy bed.

The View, Our chalet was just 4kms from the centre of Morzine and as the name suggests had superb views which we were able to enjoy in the afternoons sitting on the terrace with a piping hot cup of tea and homemade cookies or cake. Our chalet was comfortable in the extreme with a cosy lounge area, fire, and tv, the ideal area to get to know our fellow chalet guests, some of which were returning to enjoy the AliKats hospitality.

Built-in 2017 exclusively for AliKats with a stunning finish from up and coming interior designer Louise Leighton, The View sleeps up to 14 people in five luxury ensuite rooms.  Staying in The View was a great experience, we loved our room, the hosts were friendly, the drivers efficient and the location perfect.

The View featured designer style ensuite bathrooms, stunning views, a cinema room, outdoor hot tub, sauna, balconies, and outside seating areas, ski and boot room, Wifi and a TV with Netflix.

AliKats have self-catered chalets, semi-catered chalets and fully catered chalets, options for all budgets.

Our three days were simply perfect, the weather was as good as it could ever be for skiing, super snow and blue skies. Our premium ski equipment packages supplied by Doorstep Skis in Morzine ensured we were safe and very comfortable.  The package included the latest Rossignol, K2 and Salomon skis, boots, poles and helmets, which can be collected from their well-stocked store in town or delivered directly to your chalet, hotel or apartment. The service provided by the Doorstep team was spot-on. All of our measurements, weight, height and any ailments were put into a computer programme to make sure our bindings were set correctly and the skis were the right length and shape to match our skiing ability.

We must also thank our friends at Morzine / Avoriaz tourist office for their kind help with this press and review trip and for ensuring our safe passage to and from Geneva airport with Skiidy Gonzales, who’s minivans were warm, comfortable and speedy and were happy to lift the luggage in and out for us.
