De Vere Hotel Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor is a very British Hotel
July 2, 2018
Windsor is a beautiful place to visit and best know for Windsor Castle, the royal residence at Windsor in the English country of Berkshire. The royal castle has recently been in the public eye and press a lot and is in high demand due to the royal wedding. I have visited Windsor many times, but thought it would be great to go back and get some royal wedding vibes whilst staying in the beautiful De Vere Beaumont Estate.
Yes I was lucky enough to stay in another De Vere hotel, this one was the De Vere Beaumont Estate and has recently unveiled the results of a multi-million top-to-toe refurbishment, which included the creation of new luxury bedrooms, re-designed dining outlets including the 1705 Restaurant & Bar, as well as enhancements to its 44-acres of beautiful manicured lawns and secret gardens, with superfast 100MB outdoor Wi-Fi perfect for guests to explore the grounds whilst staying connected.
The entrance and drive was very grand and beautiful green surroundings. I love a long drive way up to an estate- it really sets the mood. We walked into reception and the smell was divine; there were fresh cut flowers everywhere and the sent was gorgeous. We where greeted and welcomed by reception and given our room key. We were lucky enough to be staying in the White House the main building, in room 1004.
The front of the White House is stunning, a beautiful crisp Manor House. Wedding season is at it’s peak and there was a wedding on during our stay so there were little extra surprises which was lovely; like a harpist at the entrance of the White Estate house. The entrance hall was very glamours with a romantic modern fairy tail theme décor. The grand staircase on the left was one of my favourite features. It spiralled up to a massive glistening chandelier leading us to our room. Room l004 had very neat polished décor continuing the rich theme.
We had a large bed with a high head board, a sofa area with a TV and a table for if one was to be reading or writing. I was most impressive with the bathroom! We had a stand alone bath in the middle of the room glazing out to the beautiful grounds. Our room was facing the back so we got to admire the garden and architecture. The room was full of all the facilities you would need; a hair dryer, robes, toiletries, fridge with water, tea and coffee.
Next we explored the rest of the building followed by lunch. The beautiful décor ran the whole way through the building. There was beautiful wall paper with jacquard prints everywhere, giving a luxury finish. We wondered around the grounds; there were people relaxing having drinks, sitting on the grass and also groups of people playing games such as football and rounders. Perfect surroundings for everyone!
We went down to the bar and found a picturesque courtyard in the sun, perfect for an afternoon bit to eat and drink. In the summer, the adjoining courtyard provides guests the opportunity to dine alfresco, with a wood-fired pizza oven. The food was spot on. We had a super food salad and a burger and chunky chips. It was beautifully presented, full of flavour and colour. The salad was full of mixed vegetables, carrot pomegranate, quinoa and lettuce. And wow the burger was juicy making our taste buds just want to dig in! We could not fault one bit. It was perfection.
We then booked a table for dinner at 9 pm to give us time to settle in and enjoy the hotel. When we went back up to the room a bottle of champagne and fresh fruit was presented to us! Such a kind gesture and we were over the moon with the surprise. Thank you and a very big cheers to De Vere! Your staff are also so kind, friendly and attentive.
Next up, to test the beautifully placed bath in the middle of the bathroom which I was very excited about! And as you can image it was so good! We refreshed and got ready for the evening and tonight it was all about polka dots as this is a massive trend at the moment. We got ready to go by 8:30pm, so we could enjoy an evening walk.
The new bar, with its comfortable sofas and feature lighting, supplements the restaurant and is just the place to begin or end the evening. We were greeted and taken to a lovely corner table. The décor was modern and sleek. We ordered some drinks and selected our 3 course dinner.
We had hommous that had pomegranates on with bread and calamari for starers, followed by chicken with roasted new potatoes presented with vine tomatoes and a steak with roasted new potatoes and vine tomatoes and they were both delicious. Finished with chocolate brownie and a eton mess! My favourite! The food was amazing! I was so impressed, the taste the presentation and the service was spot on! I would defiantly be going back there for dinner!
We then back to our suite and enjoyed the rooms facilities, relaxing watching the tv.
On Sunday we decide to get up early and make use of the spa facilities. We got our fresh white robes and slippers on and headed down to the spa. There was a big gym there which I peak in but it was too early for that much energy to be consumed. So I stuck with the big pool and did a few lengths!
Breakfast was served between – we got down about 8:45am and it was busy, the vibe was alive! There was lots of options to choose from. Cooked full breakfast, pastries- croissants, cereals, fruit etc. Tea and coffee and juice.
I can honestly say my stay was so relaxing and enjoyable – a great place to escape to! The Windsor Estate was a wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I’d love to come back for sure!
